STRATFORD POINT LIGHTHOUSE
End of Prospect Drive
Stratford, CT

The Stratford Point Lighthouse was constructed, on the present day site, back in 1881.  It is owned and operated by the U.S.Coast Guard and is in use today as a navigational aid.  It sits at the mouth of the Housatonic River where it meets the Stratford Harbord.

The Lighthouse is 35′ tall and is made of cast iron with a brick lined interior.  The inside is fairly void with the exception of a wrought iron spiraling staircase up to the light.  It is my understanding that the accompanying home, most likely, is lived in by U.S.Coast Guard personnel.

Photographed with Nikon D7100, 18-55mm and 80-400mm lens.
