While in Hartford recently I decided to walk around the block with my camera. Chiefly because I wanted to try my hand at reflections in the building glass. As you look at the photo the first thing I’d like to point out is that I didn’t have an ultra wide angle lens. I shot this with an 18mm (35mm equiv.=28.8). I could not go wide enough to capture enough of the building and surrounding area. As a result the building is a bit over powering in the photo.
Nevertheless my intent was to experiment with reflections. I think the reflection itself came out ok but I can do better. I’ll be looking for to improve on this shot, (or a similar one), in the future. I do however need a wider lens.
The second shot just happened to be an apartment building that I was parked in front of. My car is just out of view to the left of the photo. There were also some funky colors going on in the lower window panes which I thought were neat.
The last shot I found interesting because Mark Twain appears to be introducing us to the building on his left. So I figured I’d accommodate him and photograph it.
