[wzslider height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”]Built in 1927 the Point Street Bridge spans the Providence River. Although originally a swing bridge it is now fixed in place. This is because the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier, built downstream to the south, prevents larger vessels from gaining entrance to the Providence River.
The Point St. park is located on the north/west side of the bridge. It’s a small, quiet park which one might think barely qualifies to be called a “park”. However, it is which means it’s available to the general public. If you’re a local you may find this to be hidden gem if you want to curl up on the park bench, read a book and enjoy the tranquility of the river life in front of you.
