[wzslider autoplay=”true” interval=”7000″ height=”800″ lightbox=”true”]My friend Ron, (one of the best surf casting photographers you’ll ever find), treated me to a late afternoon birding session at a Stratford CT shoreline to photograph hawks. This is an area that Ron frequents often and it has a lot of hawk activity while at the same time very few people.
Ron knows a lot more about this type of photography than me and taught me where to sit and the best way to photograph them without intruding on their space. There were a couple of nests nearby that these fish hawks occupied. Some of the photo’s show a catch that one hawk was bringing back to the next. For grins there’s also a photo of a duck and a gull.
This was an enjoyable time and I learned a lot from Ron. I’m looking forward to going back with him soon. He also recently visited Alaska for some bird photography. He captured some awesome photographs of Eagles in flight. Hopefully I can get some of those photo’s online for you to enjoy.
Photographed with a Nikon D7100 and a Nikon 80-400mm, 5.6-8.00 lens.
