[wzslider height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”]Guifrida Park is a bit of a hidden gem located on the east side of Meriden, CT utilized most by locals. It comprises about 600 acres and it’s beautiful lake is most prominent as many walking trails wind around it. The park is great for picnics, sunbathing, hiking, nature walks, and just general exploration. In the winter the terrain is great for snow shoe hikes. There are a couple of outlooks along the trails offering beautiful views.
I stopped by today to see if I could grab a last minute “fall foliage” photo before it slips away on us into winter. I was surprised to see mid-day during the week how much activity was going on during my short twenty minutes there. I saw hikers come and go, as well as a mountain bicyclist. There were a couple of young romantics by the waters edge. The trails also seem to be a haven for people that stop by and walk their dogs. Bottom line – not a bad place to stop by and take in, particularly on a fall or summers day.
