[wzslider height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”]I’ve taken well over a hundred photo’s of my little buddy Ginny but this morning I decided to capture another close up.  The thing about Ginny is that she greets me when I come home from work every day.  Even if it means she has to get up from a nap and walk from one side of the house to the other.  She follow’s me every where.  When I set up a photo shoot in the living room.  She’s right there.  Ginny’s a Persian cat who will be thirteen years old this August.

My wife and I almost lost her three years ago when completely out of the blue she suffered catastrophic heart failure.  The veterinarian hospitals around here couldn’t do anything for her in her state.  Our only hope was to get her to Tufts Medical University in Massachusetts.  It was a two hour ride and she was literally at deaths door when we got her there.  She spent several days in an oxygen tent with numerous drugs in her veins.

When she was released after nearly a week she could barely walk she was so weak.  Her heart had been damaged and, in addition, she had some major clots in an area of her heart.  She was put on a very severe drug regime which even included a daily inection, (much like a person would undergo), and we were told she probably had anywhere from three weeks to three months but there was always a possibility she could live longer.

We prayed until we couldn’t pray any more and did everything we were supposed to do.  Well prayers can be answered!  Three years later she has a little damage to one area of her heart but has recovered fully.  I’m happy to tell you that after the first couple of months back from the hospital she regained all her strength and has been living a full life.  Thank you God.

She’s one rocking cool cat!
