I immediately turned the car around and drove down a very short dirt road to this beautiful relic of a silo.
I always find beauty in abandoned buildings, barns, silo’s etc. not to mention the “story” I conjure up in my mind of what life was like back in the day. I found this silo particularly beautiful in its own right complete with graffiti. It was surrounded by woods as far as the eye could see, except on the south side where the main road cut through not far off in the distance. There were no other buildings or barns anywhere. You wonder why they chose to let this silo stand. I suspect because it’s made of steel they’d have to pay someone to demolotion it and take it away. I’m glad they didn’t!
As usual Cheryl sat in the car and “supervised” while I took my shots. As I was wrapping it up I heard a pack of coyotes howling very close by. I’m used to their sounds as we would see and hear them often in the last neighborhood we lived in. Coyotes in general don’t scare me but packs do, especially hungry packs. I knew they were close and getting closer so I decided that was enough shots for time and hoped I would make it back to the car before they did. (smile), f11

Hey I too take photos of random abandoned buildings and stuff and was wondering a road or something is may be near so I can photograph it too! Thank you I also understand if you do not want share this info!
Hi Raechel,
I have no problem sharing where my photo’s are but I don’t record the streets sometimes I even forget to record the towns. This silo was right off a main road in Woodbury but I don’t remember the specifics. I’m very sorry. If you just drive around in any town you’ll find plenty of abandoned buildings to photograph believe me.
