June of 2021 Cheryl and I decided to drive up to York Maine for the purpose of photographing the Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse. Known to locals as simply “the Nubble” lighthouse.
It was an absolutely beautfiul June day upon arrival replete with family’s, couples, singles and a fair amount of scuba divers on shore ready to jump in. It was moderately crowded but we managed to get, what seemed like, the last available parking slot. Once down on the rocks with the tripod set up it was just a matter of waiting patiently for visitors to exit your frame before clicking the shutter. No problem!
I was able to walk away with this shot and it was taken with:
Sony A7RII, 42.3 MP, full frame, mirrorless camera
Sony 24-105 F4 G OSS lens at 24 mm
1/160th, F16, ISO 100, APERTURE PRIORITY
As we’ve photographed all the lighthouses in this area and the greater Portland area we plan on taking a trip up to the Boothbay region of Maine in August of 2022 to capture that area’s splendid lighthouses.
