As I was barn searching along South Main St. on the outskirts of Newtown CT I was struck by the stellar condition of this very old barn. The property owners had maintained this in such a manner that it is not only gorgeous but will last for many more years to come.
As I was across the street taking shots of the barn I caught the attention of the Lady of the house. She approached me wondering what I was up to. I’m always fully transparent and told her about my passion for barns and this website. She advised me that her husband was going to be home in a matter of minutes and asked me if I wanted to see the inside of the barn. Without her husband there I was reluctant but she insisted. So I identified myself fully and she allowed me to go inside and take some photographs while she waited in the yard. I went upstairs and took the (2) upstairs shots you see and then took a quick picture of the flag against the wall downstairs. I felt somewhat self conscious walking around the garage as a complete stranger so I was in and out in two minutes. I didn’t want to push it. Just as I was coming out of the barn her husband arrived and I introduced myself to him as well. They were both extremely nice people and kind enough to share this barn with me. They had tremendous pride in it and rightfully should!
