[wzslider height=”800″ info=”true” lightbox=”true”]My wife Cheryl and I enjoyed taking a tour of the historic Cheney Fire House located in Manchester, CT over the summer. There was a retired firefighter from Middletown, CT hosting the museum who graciously answered all our questions. The museum is house in an actual fire station from the early 1900’s. There are artifacts from around the state. You’ll find numerous fire pumps from the mid 1800’s through the mid 1900’s as well as gear, badges, hats etc. I think you’ll find this visit from for people of all ages that enjoy history. Firefighters will find the history particularly interesting. Children will simply love the firetruck, (which they can climb into the drivers seat), uniforms, hats, and colorful pumps. If you have an hour, bring a camera, and enjoy the trip!
